Why Dewire?
- When it comes to dewiring, many companies still rely on shredding technology. However, increased wear on the rotor tools makes this very cost-intensive. There is also a risk of the wires wrapping around the rotors. Furthermore, shredding often does not fulfill the requirements for further material processing: although the wires are removed from the bales during shredding with subsequent magnetic separation, the material is unfortunately shredded, which makes subsequent sorting extremely difficult. In addition, a lot of material is lost due to the production of fines
How does the BD bundle unbundler work?
- The opened bales are fed onto a robust steel belt conveyor. The conveyor transports the bales towards the wire removal system. As soon as the bale reaches the working position, the hydraulically operated compression bar pushes against the bale. The cutting device grips and cuts the wires. The wire wrapping mechanism then picks up the wires, winds them up and throws them down. The clamping and cutting unit is returned to its original position. The process starts again with the next bale.
- The bale unwinder is designed for pressed bales with unidirectional wires made of ungalvanised standard steel. Maximum wire thickness 4 mm.
- For optimum bale opening, the BD bale stripping system should be complemented by a BRT Hartner BB bale breaker. This machine breaks down and loosens the contents of the stripped bales and passes the material on to further processing. Nothing now stands in the way of efficient sorting and further processing.
