HTR two-ram baler
Product code HTR-C
Kadant PAAL’s HTR-C baler is a fully automatic, high-compaction two-ram baler offered with a plastic strap or steel wire tying system and a patented telescopic tunnel for maximum throughputs.
HTR-C features:
- Binding by PET tape or steel wire
- Up to 1950kN of compressive force
The multipurpose HTR-C baler is capable of baling municipal solid waste (MSW), refuse derived fuel (RDF), and agriculture material (including alfalfa, grass, and straw) as well as the full range of recyclable materials like mixed paper, OCC, PET, and plastics.
The bundles are pressed between 1200 kN and 1950 kN in an enclosed pressure chamber, resulting in extremely high bundle density and weight. The PP or PET tape bundling system works quickly and without interference. Wire taying is possible.
The press has been very successful in applications where bales of extremely large stroke lengths need to be produced in uniform sizes. These can be bales of compacted household rubbish wrapped in LLDPE film for landfill storage, alfalfa pressed for horse feed, hay or maize, RDF or SRF, etc.

Controls
The control panel is located separately from the press to avoid possible vibrations and oscillations.
Electronic control of the press is available on a 10″ touchscreen. It allows control of programmes and data monitoring. The latest generation of PLCs and touchscreens offers excellent maintenance possibilities.
A high level of safety is ensured by a safety system based on the principle of special keys, which is aligned with the most current machinery directive.
To avoid rodent damage, the cables on the press are embedded in open channels.
A PC connection can be added on request to transfer production data and evaluate it in Excel.
Hydraulics
Compact, quiet hydraulic motors are designed with modern drives and powerful axial piston pumps that significantly reduce the amount of energy required.
The variable-flow pump and low number of nozzles reduce energy waste and service costs.
Separate hydraulic wheel for telescopic channel
The high quality master cylinder is made using only threaded joints, eliminating the possibility of weakness and cracking at the welds.
Press hopper
The HTR 275 press hopper is equipped with a safety glass door.
Cutting system
The cutting force is reduced by the shape of the blade, which has been refined over more than a decade. The cutting system is designed so that the blades cut at a high angle to the side wall of the press chamber.
A cutting edge stamper is available on request to eliminate raw material jamming.
Press chamber
The smooth operation of the press chamber can be easily monitored through the service door on either side of the machine.
The bottom of the HTR press chamber is covered with high-strength Hardox steel plates bolted together. It can additionally be used to cover both the side and top surfaces of the chamber.
Low system wear is ensured by the precise movement of the plate. The PAAL-designed press plates move using eight wheels, side guides and a central lubrication system.
Press channel
At the same time as one part of the press is pressing the bale, the bale in the next stage is strapped with tape, increasing the capacity of the press
The telescopic channel allows the bale to expand slightly before tying, resulting in reduced bale expansion forces.
No other baler on the market produces bales with the high density of the high productivity HTR.
Binding
Relatively cheap PET materials are used for binding, thus saving production costs.
The simultaneous operation of binding and pressing makes the HTR extremely cost-effective and unbeatable in the market for two-circuit presses.
To burn the raw materials in the incinerator, the tape burns completely, unlike the wire, which should be removed before burning.
